So here I am in Utah enjoying my version of a relaxing week long summer before I head north to Alaska to spend my actual summer working at a cannery with 150 Polish students. What’s that? Everyone is jealous? That’s what I thought. At some point during my 12 hour drive, from Portland to Salt Lake, I realized that my life is missing something….. it’s missing a photo of the day blog or a pholog as I will lovingly call it. Today is the perfect day to start it too.
I started my day by having a cup of coffee outside, in the spectacular sunshine, while the butterflies were fluttering about in the beautiful spring greenery. It made me so happy I very nearly burst into an interpretive ribbon dance portraying the wind. My excitement with life pretty much made the person next to me want to stab themselves in the jugular. What can I say? It’s not my fault that sunny warm Utah weather is such a drastic change from the overcast chilly Portland weather. Also, it’s not my fault that you had to go to work today and I didn’t…….. therefore I don’t get a regular paycheck so really the fact that I can be so amused by some butterflies is kind of a big deal and also kind of my fault. Circular thinking rules.
Lots of things rule today like: the guy in the white Matrix with the license plate TJ TOY and the holder that says ‘A womans place is on my face’. I think I just found my new best friend and perhaps the coolest person in the whole world. To you TJ I just want to say if I ever move back to Utah it’s only because of you.
